What’s the one thing a living being is most close to? Family and the loved ones. The premise of Chintu Ka Birthday is quite simple but this Zee5 film lives on that simple story. A well crafted story of an Indian family residing in Iraq, but the time is not good. The fall of Saddam Hussein leading to a crisis in the country. It’s filled with American soldiers every next lane and you never know who may turn out as a guest on your door.

The story follows Tiwary family and their hardships living in a war zone. The family’s young member Chintu turned six and the family wants to celebrate his birthday. A simple storyline yet with fine performances, the film stands out and becomes a delightful watch.

A still from Chintu Ka Birthday

Every character in the Tiwari family lives on the hope, the hope of homecoming, the hope of getting back to their motherland, India.

Coming back to the story, the birthday party is disrupted by two American soldiers and what’s stored in further? Was Chintu able to celebrate his sixth birthday?

The film simply deals with it’s subject and never lets you down as a viewer. Though as a viewer you expect few things, but this is not a fantasy or a heroic story.
