theatres-in-covid-19

The Tollywood film industry can sit back and take a breather at least for now. The Telangana government has now allowed single screen theatres and multiplexes to open up in the state. On Monday the government, took this step and issued a notification for the same. However the theatres will operate at 50% capacity, mirroring the trend which other states have followed too.

The government’s issued circular read :

“After careful consideration of the matter, it is hereby decided to permit cinemas / theatres / multiplexes to reopen with upto 50% of their seating capacity in areas outside the containment zones only, with immediate effect.”

Thus now the audience can go back to theatres and watch films albeit with certain protocols to follow. Folks going to the theatres, the theatre staff have to wear masks all the time compulsorily, and observing social distancing is necessary too.

Further, the theatres have to install hand sanitisation measures to help the state fight the COVID-19 scare.

The chief minister of the state, K Chandrashekhar Rao is promising to help the film industry in this dire time. He is committing to bring in relief measures in his party’s poll manifesto for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election.

As soon as the news of theatres in the state opening again reached people, Superstar Chiranjeevi tweeted his gratitude to the Chief Minister. He posted the following tweet :

Indeed the state can rejoice and gradually go back to normalcy again.
