As the housekeeper on the sitcom, Two and a Half Men, she made the audiences laugh and filled their hearts with joy. She created a space for herself in their hearts, which, today will ache. I am talking about the actor, Conchata Ferrell, who is no more. She passed away at the age of 77.

In a long career, she became synonymous with character actor roles. Her stint in movies like Mystic Pizza and Network also remains a fond part of her career.

Although it was with Two and A Half Men’s Berta, the housekeeper, that she became known in the world. The CBS show, which began in 2003 and ended in 2015, included her in all the seasons.

The actor died on Monday, at the Sherman Oaks Hospital, due to a cardiac arrest. Her publicist, Cynthia Snyder confirmed this news.

John Cryer, who starred alongside her on Two And A Half Men, reminisced about her, recalling how she brought “joy to so many people”. He further described her in his tweet as “Berta’s gruff exterior was an invention of the writers. Chatty’s warmth and vulnerability were her real strengths.”

Actor, Charlie Sheen who had starred in Two And A Half Men, before his infamous firing from the show, for his disproving behavior, also tweeted about Ferrell. His tweet read:

Even the Emmys had recognized her amazing contribution, nominating her twice for Two And A Half Men in the supporting actress category. She also received one for her role as Susan Bloom on LA Show.

In her career, she also appeared in famous films such as Heartland, True Romance, and Erin Brockovich and her other TV appearances were in Good Times, ER, Grace and Frankie, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Having left this world now, she is survived by her husband, Arnie Anderson, and daughter, Samantha. May she rest in pace.
