We recently reported that actors Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi would star in Shakun Batra’s film. Reports of Ananya Panday joining them also started pouring in. Now, it has been officially confirmed that the three actors are indeed teaming up for Batra’s directorial venture.
The film will be produced by Apporva Mehta and Karan Johar who took to his social media account earlier today to make the announcement and wrote, “He (Shakun Batra) is back with another does of life and love.” He also revealed that the film would be a relationship drama and would be released on 21 February 2021. He told Bombay Times that he is “proud and excited about Shakun’s vision as a versatile filmmaker.”

Batra will also turn producer with the upcoming film which will go on the floors early next year. He has previously collaborated with Johar on two films. He directed Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012) and the widely acclaimed family drama Kapoor & Sons (2016). Both the films were produced by Johar under his banner Dharma Production.
“I have had a wonderful journey with Karan and his production house for almost a decade, and I can’t wait to get back into the director’s chair for my next. It is a relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone,” Batra told Bombay Times.
While Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday have previously worked with Johar as a producer in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Student of the Year 2 respectively, it will be Chaturvedi’s first film with Dharma Productions.
