In 1995 Govinda and Karishma Kapoor starred together in Coolie No.1 which David Dhawan helmed. Now David is coming out with the remake of the film. His son and actor, Varun Dhawan is starring in the lead role and the film’s trailer is coming out soon. On November 28th, you will be able to catch the trailer.
Varun took to twitter to share this news. He wrote, “Arrival time note kar lijiye trailer ka! 28 Nov, 12 PM, Amazon Prime Video ke Facebook aur YouTube page par. Milte hain Folded hands #CoolieNo1OnPrime Christmas tree #CoolieNo1 (sic).”
A new poster from the film was also shared simultaneously with his tweet by Varun. It is as follows –
While Varun Dhawan plays the leading role, Sara Ali Khan stars as his leading lady in the film. Paresh Rawail is playing a supporting character in the film which will release on Christmas on Amazon Prime Video.
The film’s principal photography began in Bangkok last year on August 8th. May 1, 2020 was the set date for the film’s arrival in theatres but like the films world over, Coolie No. 1 also saw its release postponed because of COVID-19.
Several films released digitally this year as theatres got shut down. Contemplating whether to wait for theatres to reopen or to release it digitally, the makers decided to go the OTT way for the film. While theatres in several states are open now albeit with reduced capacity, people are not going in huge numbers like they used to, mainly because of the fear of the second wave of the virus.
Vashu Bhagnani is serving as the producer of the film which will entertain the audience in the holiday season.
