It was a dream debut for the actor, Saiee Manjrekar, with last year’s Dabbang 3. She made her entry into films with superstar, Salman Khan. Her debut clearly impressed people, with the actress now bagging a major bilingual project. The project is an upcoming film, based on 26/11 Martyr Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
For the lead role of Major Unnikrishnan, Telugu actor, Adivi Sesh is cast. While actor, Shobhita Dhulipala, who shot to fame with Made In Heaven will play an important role in the film.
Sony Pictures Films, India along with Telugu star, Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment, and A+S movies, is producing the film.
It is being shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. Saiee talked about getting a role in the film and in a statement, said :
“For me, what matters is the script and the impact the character has in the overall narrative. Once you deep dive into the dissection of the character, there are so many beautiful emotions that as an actress I can explore. This is what I saw in the script of Major which is why when it was offered to me, I instantly said a ‘yes’ to it.”
The shooting of the film has already begun, with Saiee expected to join the team, next month in Hyderabad.
The director, Sashi Kiran Tikka, who helmed the 2018 action-thriller Goodachari, is directing the film. For him, the challenge is to stay authentic to the storyline. Speaking about the film, he said :
“None of us were present when the incident happened. All we know is what was in the news at that time. The challenge lies in bringing authenticity to our imagination of what happened in reality; and the pressure lies in showing it in a feature film style rather than a documentary-style”.
The film titled as Major will release in 2021.
