Actor Darshan Kumar, who made his acting debut with Omung Kumar‘s ‘Mary Kom‘ will next feature in PM Narendra Modi’s biopic directed by the same director, which also features Vivek Anand Oberoi in the lead. According to the reports, Darshan has been roped in to play a popular TV anchor.
Sources also reveal that the actor had gone through several look tests and the makers of the film are currently in discussion with a senior, for Darshan’s approval for the role.
Producer Sandip Ssingh said in a statement: “This is Darshan’s third film with us. He made his debut with our film ‘Mary Kom’. It’s wonderful to be teaming up with him for ‘PM Narendra Modi’. His character will play a key role in the film’s story.”
Darshan said he is “honoured to be a part of the biggest biopic”. Kumar has a history of working in female-oriented films, like Priyanka Chopra‘s ‘Mary Kom’, Anushka Sharma‘s ‘NH 10’ and Aishwarya Rai‘s ‘Sarbjit’.
The film also features actors like Zarina Wahab, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, and Barkha Bisht Sengupta. ‘PM Narendra Modi’ will be tracing the life of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a tea-seller to the Prime Minister’s Office.
‘PM Narendra Modi’ is co-produced by Ssingh and Suresh Oberoi.
