On Friday, the dead body of a 40-year-old man was found hanging at the ramparts of Nahargarh Fort along with the message which is referring to the protests over Padmavati scribbled on the stone inside the fort. Later, the police investigated and the man got identified as Chetan Saini, he sold jewelry and handicraft in the Nahari Ka Naka area, which is near to the Nahargarh fort on the outskirts of Jaipur.
Near to the body, there was a handwritten message on a stone which says that those who are opposing the Rani Padmavati they will not just hang the effigies on the forts and they do have courage. Earlier, the people and the political parties who are opposing the movie ‘Padmavati’ by claiming that the movie has a dream sequence between the Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji. The protestors had hung the effigies of the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with the actress Deepika Padukone outside the Chittorgarh Fort.
Their weres some of the other messages were also written like, Same fate will happen to all the disbelievers, The tantric Chetan has been killed, If the Rani Padmini committed Jauhar then, Akbar is Jodha’s husband. Earlier, in 2008, Shri Rajput Karni Sena has protested for the movie Jodhaa Akbar, which was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker by claiming that the movie was having an inaccurate portrayal of history. However, the movie did not release in Rajasthan.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Satyendra Singh says that the body was found hanging early on Friday morning. As per the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), the team visited the location where the incident took place and going by the nature of injuries, they said that it looks like a suicide. Moreover, they said that his fingers were blackened with some material which was used to scribble on the stones.
Now, the handwriting experts will ascertain that whether Saini wrote on the stone or not. As far as the investigation says that it does not seem to be a case of foul play. As the investigation will proceed than the motive would be clearer. The SHO of Brahmpuri police station, Ramkishan says that it is clear that whether those lines were scribbled. Police have not ruled till yet that the message on the stone may be an attempt just to mislead the investigation.
Moreover, his family is not in a state to give the statement. But as far they have come to know that he kept only to himself. All his relatives and neighbors say that he was not involved in any of the politics or any such thing. On this Chetan Saini’s brother Ramratan said that he left home around 3:30 on Thursday by saying that he has some important work and nearly about 5:30 he called up home and said that he would be returning home around 9:30 and after that the family member did not hear anything from him.
His brother even said that Chetan had neither watched the movie Padmavati nor discussed it and he was having no association with the Karni Sena. He was a very simple person and he used to mind his own business he did not have any enmity and neither he did keep a lot of friends. Moreover, his brother clarified that he was not in a depression nor he was tantric. He belongs to a very educated family and he was not in a debt. Someone has intentionally tried to link him with the Padmavati controversy. He had two children aged 12 and aged 13 years.
The SRKS president Mahipal Singh Makrana says that this all has done been just to mislead the investigation but the person who did this are very well aware of their history well, referring as a tantric Chetan and Jodha Akbar. There were many messages that were written near to the body and according to the reports it would have taken a lot of time to scribble those messages on the stone.
Mahipal Singh Makrana says that in the Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s 1540 epic poem Padmavati, the king Ratansen has banished the sorcerer Raghava Chaitanya, and then he traveled to court of Alauddin Khilji in Delhi and he told the Muslim sultan Alauddin Khilji, about the Rani Padmini’s beauty and that led Alauddin to lay siege to Chittor.
He says that Chetan was not at all associated with them, but the tantric Chetan seems to be a reference to a Raghav Chaitanya and that is pointing out that the body was found hanging on the wall which faces the old city. Moreover, he says that is no way to protest even earlier they have received threats from Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Norway and much more and they have also written it to the Jaipur Commissioner about it.
