Deepika Padukone is one of the most versatile and accomplished actresses of today’s generation. In her career of over a decade, Deepika has given us dozens of memorable characters which are still fresh in our minds. One such role was of ‘Leela Sanera’ in the movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Deepika played the part very effectively but what very people know is Deepika almost broke down on the first day of the shooting on the sets.
In a media interaction recently, Deepika told some exclusive details from that time. Deepika shared how director Sanjay Leena Bhansali almost pushed her to the deep end, and it was very hard catching up for her.
Deepika said that Sanjay used to change scenes very frequently and how it was difficult at first catching up with the pace.
Deepika said about one of the scenes, “I got a scene when I was sitting on the make-up chair. I said to him that I can’t do it and I need couple of days to learn my lines and he said ‘No’. He said that we will start the scene with your close-up. I broken down there thinking about how will I perform this scene”.
She further said, “I was not given any option. He is sort of person who if you say that you need 3 days for a scene, he will give you 3 days to it. But you have do it the way he says”.
Deepika further said that she performed a very difficult scene on the day one and the shot was complete within one and half day.
Though, the initial experience for Deepika wasn’t pleasant, she has always said that the film has been the best thing happened to her as she met her future husband Ranveer Singh on the sets of the film.
