Tamil actor Dhanush and his wife, Aishwarya Rajnikanth, decide to separate after 18 years of togetherness. They urged the fans to respect the decision of their split.

Raanjhana actor Dhanush and his wife, Aishwarya Rajnikanth, married eighteen years back on November 18, 2004. Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, a film director and a playback singer, is the eldest daughter of the superstar of Indian cinema, Rajnikanth. They first met on the release day of Dhanush’s film ‘Kadhal Kondaen’. The actor recalled their first meeting in an interview a few years back. The actor said, ”At the first day’s show of my film Kadhal Kondaen, we as a family went to watch it. By the interval, we were all hugging each other as we knew it would be a hit. Once the film was over, I was about to leave when the cinema owner introduced me to Rajinikanth Sir’s daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya. We just said hi to each other and left. The next day, Aishwarya sent me a bouquet saying, ‘Good work. Keep in touch’. I just took that very seriously. She is two years older to me and we got married two years later after we met.”
Dhanush also revealed that he liked her simplicity which made him fall in love with Aishwaryaa. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have two sons, Yatra and Linga, born in 2006 and 2010. Netizens seem shocked to the announcement of the split of the lovely couple they adored. To which, the actor has requested his fans to respect their decision and confer privacy to them.
Heartfelt Note Of Dhanush On Their Separation
Dhanush pens an emotional note regarding the news of their separation. The actor posted on his Twitter handle, ”18 years of togetherness as friends, couple as parents and well wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.” The actor continues requesting his fans and writes, ”Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivaaya!”
Wife Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth posted the same note on her Instagram handle with a caption, ”No caption needed… only your understanding n your love necessary.”
The couple worked together on three projects. Tamil actor, Dhanush featured in the song, ‘Kolaveri Di’ back in 2011, which escalated his popularity all over the country. The actor made his Bollywood debut in Anand L Rai’s ‘Raanjhanaa.’
Recently, the actor featured in ‘Atrangi Re’ co-starring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan. He received National Film Award for his outstanding performance in ‘Asuran’ last year.
