Due to the rising tension between India and Pakistan, actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh have postponed the unveiling of his wax figurine at the Madame Tussauds, Delhi.

The actor who was supposed to unveil his wax statue on Tuesday took to his Twitter to make the announcement. The ‘Udta Punjab’ actor amidst rising tension between the neighboring countries, he wants to stand with the Indian Defence and thus will be rescheduling the unveiling of his statue.

Diljit Dosanjh wrote, “Our soldiers are fighting hard to protect the Nation. We stand by our Soldiers.  Amidst the tensions rising across the Nation, have decided to re-schedule the launch of #MadameTussauds WAX Statue

Madame Tussauds Twitter handle also released an official statement which read, “Considering the recent event in the country, we wish to inform you that we have decided to re-schedule the launch of Diljit Dosanjh’s wax statue at the Madame Tussauds Delhi slated for February 28, 2019. We all stand by our nation at this important juncture. We will inform you about the new launch schedule once it is finalized. We regret the inconvenience caused and we hope to see you soon”.

Diljeet had previously donated ₹3 lakh to the wives of CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the terror attack in Pulwama. He shared a snapshot of the receipt on his social media account and had urged the followers to contribute to the welfare of the martyr’s families.

Dosanjh made his Bollywood debut with multi starrer film ‘Udta Punjab’ which released in 2016. Although the film starred noted actors of Bollywood like Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Shahid Kapoor, Diljit managed to get noticed by his performance.

He later appeared in ‘Phillauri’ against Anushka Sharma and sports biopic ‘Soorma’ based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh, opposite Taapsee Pannu. He will be next seen in Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Good News’ opposite Kiara Advani.
