The amazon forest, the lungs of our planet and house to one of the most diverse and beautiful species on earth has been ablaze since last few months.

Space agencies have detected more than 72,000 fires between January and August and more than 9,500 forest fires since Thursday, mostly in the Amazon region.

Although it’s such a major issue, A large chunk of global media ignored this issue for a long time. Now celebrities like Leonardo Di Caprio are raising their concerns about the issue and this has got people talking.

In Bollywood as well, celebrities have started showing concerns on the issue. Celebs like Disha Patani, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar took to their social media handles and shared the news with their fans.

Disha retweeted the post shared by Di-Caprio which said, “Terrifying to think that the Amazon is the largest rain forest on the planet, creating 20% of the earth’s oxygen, basically the lungs of the world, has been on fire and burning for the last 16 days running, with literally NO media coverage whatsoever! Why?”

Dia Mirza wrote, “Deniers of #ClimateChange we are being gutted by the fires caused by your denial! The Amazon forest, the lungs of our planet has been on fire for the last 16 days and more than 72000 fires have occurred already this year. When will world media give this more attention?”
