The fans of American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift will be able to get a glimpse into her life in the Netflix original documentary Taylor Swift: Miss Americana which will premiere on 23 January at the Sundance Film Festival. The streaming service announced the news via a press release.

The film is directed by Emmy Award-winner Lana Wilson and has been described as a “raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time.” It also gives an insight in the 29 year old singer’s “transformational period in her life as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”

The documentary had made into the news after Swift spoke out against Big Machine Label Group founder Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, alleging that they declined the use of her older music and performance footage for the film.

She had then written on Twitter that Borchetta informed her team that she can use her music only if she agrees to their conditions, which include that she may “not re-record copycat versions” of her songs next year and to “stop talking about him and Scooter Braun.”

Produced by Morgan Neville, Caitrin Rogers and Christine O’Malley, Taylor Swift: Miss Americana will be released on Netflix early next year.
