Decades back there was Satyajit Ray’s Charulata which shed light on the solitude of a woman. The film can be used to redefine the meaning of loneliness, right from the moments to the very complicated thoughts of our mind every aspect was put right by Ray across the frames. And today watching the trailer of ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare,’ was like an extended version of Charulata’s loneliness and her desire for freedom in the more modern era where the world is on your fingertips.

Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the film follows the story of two sisters who deal with love, life, and the desire for freedom in their following lives. The film’s trailer released today and is very humorous along with being social. The leading ladies Dolly and Kitty are played by Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar, respectively. They both play small-town women dealing with the true essence of life. They share their experiences as the film deals with the subject which keeps both these characters bounded to each other.

Dolly finds herself not so happy with her marriage and sets out to explore the missing factor while Kitty is quite ambitious in professional terms but both of them are not aware of the true nature of life and freedom. Hence, they set out on a journey to explore themselves first and then dealing with their surrounding.

From the trailer, the film looks promising and entertaining as well with relatable scenes and dialogues ready to make you familiar with the characters and their stories. The film also stars Amol Parashar, Vikrant Massey, Aamir Bashir, Kubbra Sait, and Karan Kundrra. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare is all set for an OTT release on Netflix dated September 18.
