Dolly Sohi is an Indian television actress. She is very well known for playing the leads in shows like ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Kalash’ and “Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi”. Currently, Dolly is playing the role in the historical show titled “Peshwa Bajirao”, which is premiered on 23 January 2017. The show is based on Maratha Peshwa Bajirao. The television series has been produced by Sphere Origins of Sunjoy Waddhwa and creatively produced by Nilanjana Purkayasstha’s company Invictus T Mediaworks.
Actress Dolly says that it is not easy to portray historical roles they are very challenging. She said, “I have essayed powerful roles as a modern woman in shows like ‘Kalash’ and ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’. That was kind of easy to do as it was based on an imaginary woman. But historical roles come with responsibilities as you have to portray someone who lived.” Moreover, she added, “When I got the role I got very excited thinking that I wouldn’t have to drape the same sari anymore, but now I have realised it is a real pain wearing heavy outfits. But as an actor doing such roles helps you.”
