There has been a lot of buzz around the upcoming film Dostana 2 especially around its cast since the time of its announcement, . While Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor would play the lead roles in the film, it was recently reported that Fateh Randhawa would play the second lead in the sequel of Dostana.
But we have come to know that before these three were cast, Karan Johar was asked to take other three actors in the film. And those other three actors were Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Alia Bhatt – the lead cast of Student Of The Year. And the person who suggested this idea was none other than Varun Dhawan.
During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Varun revealed that the cast of Student Of The Year could come together on the big screen as he asked Karan Johar to take them in Dostana 2. He said he told Karan that he was interested but Karan probably thought he was joking. But the current cast of the film is great, he added.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is all set for his upcoming film Street Dancer which stars himself, Shraddha Kapoor, Norah Fatehi, and Prabhu Deva in lead roles.
He is also filming for his father’s Coolie No. 1 where he is paired up with Sarah Ali Khan. The film is a remake his father’s 1995 release of the same name that starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
He has also for the biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal of the Indian Army. The film will be directed by Sriram Raghavan and will mark his second collaboration with Varun four years after Badlapur.
