Bollywood actor John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur are all set to come together for the sequel of 2014 successful film Ek Villain, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror. Titled as Ek Villain 2, the film will be directed by Mohit Suri who also helmed the 2014 romantic thriller film. It will mark the third collaboration of Suri with Kapur after Ashiqui 2 and Malang while it will be the first time that Abraham and Suri will work together.

The report cited a source close to the development revealing that Part 2 will not continue the story of the previous film, instead it will bring a fresh story that pits John and Aditya’s characters against each other. “It will also have an intense love story at its core,” the source told the news daily, adding that the makers are in the process of signing a top actress to be paired alongside the hero.

The source further added, “Both John and Adi had heard Mohit’s idea a while ago and were excited to come on board as the premise is something both haven’t explored before. The final narration took place recently, following which the two actors signed the film.”

An unofficial remake of the 2010 South Korean film I Saw the Devil and starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor, Ek Villain also garnered appreciation for its songs like Galliyan, Awari, Hamdard, Banjaara, Zaroorat. The makers are paying to music in the sequel as well. “Music will be a USP in Part 2 as well. Bhushan and Mohit are selecting the songs for the album, which will be locked soon,” the source told the publication.

The film will go on the floors towards the second half of 2020.
