Farhan Akhtar is currently gearing up for his upcoming Indian Bollywood comedy film titled ‘Lucknow Central‘. The movie which is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Nikkhil Advani, under the banner of Emmay Entertainment. The film will star Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Ronit Roy and Uday Tikekar. The movie also features Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal. The film will be released worldwide on September 15, 2017.
Actor Farhan Akhtar says that he did not visit Khairabad for his upcoming movie’s promotion. He is currently busy with his hectic promotional schedule. However, he has requested his production team to give him a day off so that he can connect with his roots.
Talking about his visit to Khairabad he said it straight that he did not visit Khairabad for the film’s publicity. He said that his father went to Khairabad 2-3 weeks before and from the time he returned he keeps on saying that if you ever got a chance to go to Lucknow, please go to Khairabad as well. Farhan says he has an extended family there and his ancestral house is still there. His great grandmother’s grave is also there and there are a lot of things you should go and experience there.
He gets very emotional whenever he went over there and even he said his father that he will definitely visit Khairabad if he will ever go to Lucknow and when this time he went to Lucknow to promote his upcoming movie titled ‘Lucknow Central’, he requested the production to give him a day off so that he can go to Khairabad.
Farhan shared on visiting his ancestral home that he was very happy and there was a feeling of belongingness was there. He met a lot over there but he did not know anyone of them and he hasn’t even met them before but they all him because of his work.
The people have toured him through the house, they showed him the room of his great grandfather Mustar Khairabadi’s room which is still kept the way it was. There is a garden at the back side which is 100-150 years old and there were few pictures of them in the garden. Moreover, he said that it was a very emotional experience. When asked that he would ever go back again, he said, “I just thought that when the doors open once then the coming through continues. Hopefully, I will go back there again soon.”
Talking much about the movie ‘Lucknow Central’, set against the backdrop of a jail, is the story of an inmate who is wrongfully put behind bars and is forced to opt for the unlawful path to get his much-deserved freedom. Moreover, the movie is said to be a strong, emotional and dramatic film about jail escape. It is also about dreams and aspirations, innocence and guilt. There is a lot of hope and it will make one believe in the human spirit. Farhan has given a great performance in the film.
“Lucknow Central” is all set to release on 15 September 2017.
