Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, are reuniting once again after 6 years for the upcoming film titled ‘Toofan’. The duo worked together in the biopic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag‘ and delivered a blockbuster film. The upcoming movie is based on a heartfelt story of a boxer.
The actor shared a picture with the director with the good news on Twitter. He wrote, “Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @rakeyshommehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan .. a heartfelt story of a boxer. Hope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey. Love.”

An insider revealed that the film is not a biopic but a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. He said, “It’s not a biopic. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh and the film should roll this year.”
2013 released ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor was based on the life of an Indian athlete, a national champion runner, and an Olympian, Milkha Singh. With a lifetime collection of ₹ 164 crores, the film became the sixth highest grossing film of the year.
Farhan’s debut movie ‘The Fakir Of Venice‘ is also set to see the sunlight after a decade on February 1. He is currently busy with his next film ‘The Sky Is Pink’ also starring Zaira Wasim and Priyanka Chopra in pivotal roles.
