Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson starring Fast and Furious 8 has earned an estimated amount of Rs 22.8 crores in India on it’s first day of release. The movie is said to hit a record- smashing extended weekend and gain top slot.
Under the Hollywood action franchise ” fast and furious”, movie is already very famous in India and people were said to eagerly waiting for the new release. Trade analysts expected a massive opening and we can see a record braking weekend ahead.
The earlier installment of the series is said to make over 110 crores in India alone, making it one of the most profitable market for the Hollywood industry. It is due to this reason that most of Hollywood big names get an early release in India.
The competitors of the movie at present are Vidya Balan starring ‘Begum Jaan’ and Emma Watson’s Beauty and the beast. ‘Begum Jaan’ is already in it’s 3rd weekend and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is in it’s 5th weekend. If analysts are to be believed, the Hollywood action franchise is expected to beat all the other Bollywood and regional movies in the coming weekend.
Two of Bollywood’s leading ladies, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra’s strong debut in the global film industry, has been opposite Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson respectively. Earlier in January, Deepika made her Hollywood debut in Vin Diesel’s xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, and Priyanka Chopra will be making her Hollywood debut opposite Dwayne Johnson’s Baywatch, which will release in May this year.
