The elder daughter of Late Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor made her debut in Bollywood, earlier this year, with Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’ opposite Ishaan Khattar. After that director and producer Karan Johar announced her name in the list of star cast for his next project ‘Takht‘.

But before starting the period drama ‘Takht’ Janhvi was roped in to play the unsung hero of 1999 Kargil war, Gunjan Saxena. Gunjan was India’s first women combat aviators and was posted in Kargil during the war. She along with 24 other girls made the first batch of women IAF trainee pilots. She is the first woman to be honored by Shaurya Vir award, in the army.

As a part of the preparation, Janhvi took basic flying lessons and sessions on how the Indian Air Force works and lives. She even spent some time of the real-life hero Gunjan to understand the story better.

The first look of young actress Janhvi Kapoor is out from the sets of the biopic of Gunjan Saxena, in which she is playing the titular role. The photos were shared on Instagram, via different accounts.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, who will direct her next film ‘Takht’.
