After years of wait, Batgirl is eventually ready to be a part of the sphere of the DC World. Despite being introduced in the ‘Batman Comic Book’ series back in 1967, Batgirl approaches the live-action DC Extended Universe, with Leslie Grace to portray the iconic superheroine in an exclusive movie for HBO Max.
The Batgirl character has emerged in many animated series, but this is the first-ever live-action movie depicting the iconic female superhero character on screen.
On Friday, Leslie Grace shared the first glimpse of the Batgirl poster on her Instagram handle.
”I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine,” she wrote.
”Let them all underestimate me… And when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts”, posted the actress. ‘Batgirl Of Burnside’ fans will surely perceive Leslie Grace’s batsuit posted on her social media.
Batgirl’s Shoot Starts At Glasgow This Week
Batgirl is directed by Bad Boys For Life famed directors, Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi. Christina Hodson, the scriptwriter, has given supernova projects, including Birds Of Prey and the upcoming ‘The Flash’ movie.
Production of the film has started in the streets of Glasgow this week. We can finally see DCEU back with extended family characters of the Batman series on screen. DC Universe is back to Gotham City with a novel character. Fans are exuberant to see J.K. Simmons reprising his character of Commissioner James Gordon, Michael Keaton reprising his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Brendan Fraser featuring as Firefly and Jacob Scipio cast in a currently-unknown role. We are super excited to see Leslie Grace playing the role of Batgirl in the upcoming movie.
In an interview last year, Leslie Grace revealed, ”This is only my second role, but I’m learning from my colleagues and other friends of mine that you put a little bit of yourself into each character. I’ve learned a lot of things about Barbara that are very in line with me.”
“She’s someone who’s been underestimated by even her own dad and being the youngest kid, sometimes you’re insulated from all of the tough stuff of life and she’s so eager to prove to herself and to everybody else that there’s some things that she can handle,” stated the actress.
