Bhumi Pednekar works 18 hour shift to complete her work for her three releases

There is still some time for the festival of Diwali but other preceding festivals have started in India. On August 22 is Ganesh Chaturthi. This time to make the festival a sustainable one for the environment, actor Bhumi Pednekar has requested people to make eco-friendly idols of Ganpati.

Keeping the health of the environment a priority, she has asked people to adopt DIY (Do It Yourself) methods. Herself a staunch supporter of environmental issues, the actor wants to mark the festival with benefits for nature too.

Talking about this, in an interview Bhumi said :

“This is my most favorite festival and we have been celebrating Ganpati for years in my family. Since I have been on this journey of climate conservation, I have realized that there are better ways of celebrating this festival, more sustainable ways. Nature is GOD, GOD is nature and we have to find better alternatives.”

To create a positive impact on the community, Bhumi has constantly spread awareness about climate conservation. The actor has also urged her followers to join the bandwagon and taken many initiatives under her ‘Climate Warrior’ campaign.

As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, the actor has joined hands with Dattadri, a sculptor and environment activist in Maharashtra.

Recently, the actor posted about it on Instagram. She had posted :

Dattadri is famous for making Ganpati idols of trees with seeds planted inside them. It is eco-friendly as the Idol can be easily immersed in clay pots after the festival. The seeds grow while giving birth to trees.

Meanwhile, Bhumi talked about the idea and said :

“We have to work to change the mindset of the people and try and make them realize that you can celebrate the festivals with all gusto but you can also celebrate them in the most environmentally conscious way too.”

This is indeed a revolutionary idea, which if implemented can help our nature in becoming better. Way to go Bhumi, we love her idea and if you too like this, comment down below.
