Student of the Year 2, that has already been making a lot of buzzes, finally has a defined release date. Right in the beginning month of the year, Karan Johar has made sure that the year ends with all the more credits to his name. In his tweet on Wednesday evening, Johar announced the release date of the movie to be 23 November 2018. He revealed a striking poster of the movie with Tiger Shroff looking ravishing as ever.
Karan not only gave out the release date and a new poster but also revealed that the two new leading ladies in the movie will be announced next month. His highly anticipated tweet says, “SOTY 2 will release worldwide on the 23rd of November 2018! The two new leading ladies will be announced next month! The franchise forges ahead under the baton of director @punitdmalhotra …@foxstarhindi @apoorvamehta18 @iTIGERSHROFF.”
Unlike SOTY, the sequel to it will be directed by Punit Malhotra who surprisingly hasn’t been too successful in the industry, giving flops like Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and I Hate Love Stories. Only time will tell whether he takes the franchise to a higher level or drags it down like his past ventures.
A lot of speculations were being made as to the female lead in the movie. Rumors were ripe that Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will make her debut with the film while others believed Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya Panday will be seen alongside Disha Patani. These are just stories making their way all around and nothing has been confirmed. As Karan’s tweet suggests it’s only a one month’s wait and the name will be revealed.
After the massive success of the first film in the franchise, people have already been expecting a lot from this movie also because the last one paved the bright careers of Alia, Varun and Siddharth. It will be interesting to watch who, along with Tiger Shroff, gets admission and adds glamour to the most awaited movie of the year.
