In 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic came, films released on OTT platforms ditching theatres. One film is taking a different route from all the others though. It is ditching even the OTT route and going for a direct-to-TV-route. This film is It’s My Life which stars Genelia D’Souza and Harman Baweja in the lead.
It is a Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Bommarillu, and is going to release on TV, on November 29. Zee Studios with Boney Kapoor is producing the film.
Initially, the film was shot in 2007 but it was never released. Actor, Nana Patekar, and Comedian, Kapil Sharma also star in the film which is touted as a fun film.
Talking about the film producer, Boney Kapoor said that the film was made to show the complexities between a father and son’s relation. While Boney hoped that the film is going to appeal to the audience.
He further shared – “Television has always been a great way to reach out to a wide set of audience and we are glad to share our movie for the first time ever with the viewers.”
“Partnering with Zee Cinema for the direct to TV release has been an absolute joy as we believe it’s the perfect family entertainment channel to be showcasing this film.”
Anees Bazmee directed the film which Sanjay Kapoor is also producing.
The film features Baweja as a son and Nana Patekar as his father. The father’s constant interference in his son’s life makes the film an entertaining ride, as it explores their relationship.
The original Telugu film came out in the year, 2006. It starred actors, Siddharth, Prakash Raj, and Jayasudha.
While It’s My Life finally gets a release after 13 years, let’s see if it can match up to the original film’s reputation or not.
