Filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, and Dibakar Banerjee are all set to release their anthology film Ghost Stories on the occasion of the new year. The film that consists of four short films will premiere on online streaming platform Netflix at midnight 12 am on 1 January 2020.

Zoya Akhtar took to her social media account to share a video where the four directors made the announcement. While the quartet has previously come together for anthology Bombay Talkies and Lust Stories, this is the first time that they are venturing into horror genre.

“We ventured into a space that none of us had been in before. So this year, we decided to do Ghost Stories. It’s about things that are not really human…monsters, supernatural,” the quartet declared in the video.

“Strange fascination and craving for certain kind of food,” Dibakar added. “So Netflix is going to put this out at midnight 12 am on January 1, bringing your new year with a scream,” Karan said.
