After announcing the release date around a week ago, the makers of the upcoming Netflix anthology film Ghost Stories, which consists of four short films, have dropped the teaser today. The 30 seconds long video gives us a glimpse into the four segments directed by filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, and Dibakar Banerjee.
The teaser begins with a shot of a deserted place with several crows flying around a dead tree. It then moves on to a child calling her auntie. It quickly cuts to a terrified Sobhita Dhullipala who seems to be woken up from a bad dream. It also shows a terrified Janhvi Kapoor and shows Dhulipala trying to feed a doll in a strange scene. The teaser also features actors Avinash Tiwary, Mrunal Thakur and veteran Surekha Sikri. The video ends with the cliched dialogue, “Ghar ka kuch locha hai. (There is something wrong about this house)”
Although the teaser starts and ends with the often used horror elements but it does look intriguing and keeps the viewer hooked. It fulfills the purpose of a teaser, that is, to stimulate the curiosity among the audience.
