‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’ is the fourth installment of the ‘Dragon tattoo’ series. But unlike the previous ones, this one didn’t do justice with the franchise.

Millennium trilogy penned down by the late Stieg Larsson, introduced the character of Lisbeth Salander. She is her own hero and a real badass who tackles every situation by her own. She is not the ‘damsel in distress’.

Continuation to the ‘dragon story’ the movie ‘spider web’ is written by Steven Knight, Fede Alvarez and Jay Basu and as the saying goes, ‘too many cooks spoil the broth’, they actually did. There is no consistency in the film and by the second half the film becomes melodramatic saga.

Claire Foy played Lisbeth Salander, and portrays her as the world’s best hacker but gradually with the turn of events, gets trapped in the web of conspiracy and has to find her way out.

The writers even cut the part of  The Millennium hero, Blomkvist. He is the journalist who complements Salander’s thrilling life. And portrays him as the side-kick of the main lead, without having much to do.

The film could have been much better, like its prequels, but poor story just killed it.
