The episodic saga of streaming is the new trend in the world of cinema and we are now used to rich and quality content. And it has been a challenging task for the makers to create and present the best of their fiction works. Breathe was among the first few Indian web series which made their way on the OTT platforms. In the first season R Madhavan, Amit Sadh, and Sapna Pabbi played the featured roles. And the series received a lot of appreciation from the audience worldwide due to its thrilling sequences and extremely reasonable motive.

And just a few days back, the second season i.e Breathe: Into the Shadows released on Amazon Prime which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nithya Menon, and Amit Sadh too revive his character from the first season. So, was the second season successful to carry forward the legacy of Breathe?

With the same theme “How far will you go to save your loved ones?” the second season is also fascinating as the first one, the theme is on point with a new storyline which follows as Siya, the daughter of Avinash Sabharwal (Abhishek Bachchan), a successful psychiatrist goes missing at a birthday party and after few months of emotional trauma and search, Avinash and his wife Abha (Nithya Menon) receive a ransom note that demands Avinash kill another man in return for Siya’s life.

As we talked about the theme before, it gives a creator a chance to explore the fiction in detail and the same follows here as well. A twelve episodic saga which is written very well, showing every aspect of each character. For instance, Bachchan’s character as a psychiatrist when he deals with people here, he’s accurate and the same man is very different when he returns back home which develops and builds the story arcs as per the plot.A still from Breathe: Into the Shadows

In some scenes, you might feel disconnected as there’s no explanation given in any of the episodes but we hope our questions will be answered in the season further. Breathe: Into the Shadows is not perfect but you should watch it for the best performances and edgy writing.
