The release date of the upcoming film Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan starre Gulabo Sitabo has been pushed back. The film that was originally slated to be released in April next year will now come out on 28 February 2020.

Along with the new development, the makers of the film have also unveiled the first look of Ayushmann Khurrana from the film. The picture released shows him standing on a pavement holding a bag in his hand and staring in the distance. The photo also features Amitabh Bachchan who can be seen standing in green kurta and white pyjama with one hand on his knee and another on his waist giving a frustrated expression.

Film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media account to share the news and wrote, “IT’S OFFICIAL… New release date… #GulaboSitabo to release *earlier*: 28 Feb 2020… Stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana… Directed by Shoojit Sircar… Here’s the first look of Ayushmann from the film:”

 

Gulabo Sitabo is a comedy-drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. The film is written by Shoojit’s long time collaborator Juhi Chaturvedi.

Ayushmann will reunite with Shoojit seven years after his debut film, Vicky Donor. Interestingly, Amitabh and Shoojit have also worked together in the commercially and critically acclaimed 2015 film Piku.

Set in Lucknow, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, and Saboor Ali. Eponymous glove puppet characters, Gulabo and Sitabo are from Uttar Pradesh, their story is full of local humour and songs, depicting day-to-day struggle of common man.
