Gully Boy had a grand opening at the box office where it earned ₹19.40 crores on Valentine’s Day. The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer film observed a 33% drop in its collection on the second day, but according to a Box Office India report, the Zoya Akhtar directorial minted ₹20.50 crore on Sunday, the fourth day of the release. ‘Gully Boy’ stands with a total of ₹72.45 crores in its account.

Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh has tweeted the latest collection reports, He wrote, ”#GullyBoy has excellent *extended* weekend… Will cross ₹75 cr today [Mon]… Metros are exceptional… Mumbai circuit is terrific… Tier-2 cities pick up… Metros to trend strongly on weekdays… Thu ₹19.40 cr, Fri ₹13.10 cr, Sat ₹18.65 cr, Sun ₹21.30 cr. Total: ₹72.45 cr. India biz”.

Taran also tweeted that Gully Boy will cross the lifetime biz of Zoya’s other superhit films like ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ as he wrote, “#GullyBoy benchmarks…

Gully Boy’ is Ranveer Singh‘s second-highest opening ever after ‘Simmba’ and for Alia Bhatt its the highest first day earning among her films.

The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar, an undergod story about a poor guy from Dharavi named Murad (Ranveer), whose dreams are bigger than his reality. He beats all the odds to become a successful rapper. The movie puts a shining light on India’s emerging rap culture and is inspired by the lives of rappers Naezy and Divine.
