Ashish Chanchlani posted a new video on his youtube channel on June 24, 2019. The video “Gupt Gyaan” has garnered a massive response in less than 24 hours.
According to Ashish Chanchlani’s Instagram story, the video managed to have 1M views in just one hour and the video currently has 5.9M views.
Ashish’s last video came out 2 weeks ago and has 17M views and this one seems to surpass the number of views on the last video.
Gupt Gyaan is a funny yet knowledgeable video, spreading awareness related to a taboo that is sex. Ashish tries to create a conversation with his father where his father tries to give him sex education when he already is an adult. The son, however, tries to dodge the conversation, freeing himself of the awkwardness and any suspicions. His answers are witty and funny, making one think that how can someone be so dumb, as to not understand where the conversation is headed. But it is only after watching the full video we realize that is how we have been brought up; with a ‘conservative mindset’, where something as basic and fundamental as sex doesn’t exist because talking about sex is a big no! What will people think? Where are you learning all this from? You need to change friends, they are ruining you”, and much more stuff like this. While we manage to explain all this to our kids, to live by the societal standards, we often forget to explain them some important terms, which may not be as important as their ‘books’ but are surely going to make them better humans. Consent is one such word which should be inculcated into the upbringing of children in the country.
