What does it take to apply for the Guinness Book of records ? Ask Varun Gupta, the creator and producer of the song ‘Guzar Jayega’. The song is an initiative of several artists to spread hope amidst the Coronavirus. It features celebrities such as Amitabh Bacchan, Raveena Tandon, Kapil Sharma, Ekta Kapoor and Sunny Leone.
Composed by Jazim Sharma with lyrics by Siddhanth Kaushal, the song is an effort of around 115 artists. Creator, Varun Gupta after filing the song for Guinness book of records in an interview said “When we filed the nomination for the Guinness World Records, they asked us about the process we followed to develop and compile the track. We had 115 artistes joining forces for the song, including 65 celebrities who featured in the video, 50 singers and Amitji as the narrator. It’s the first time in the history of music that a single language song has witnessed collaboration of 51 singers. We have also applied to the Limca Book of World Records.”
He further told the media that the record was previously held by, Pop legend Michael Jackson who collaborated with 40 artists for his song ‘We are the world’.
Singers like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan also feature in the song. While personalities from the domain of sports such as Sania Mirza, Vijendra Singh, Sushil Kumar, Leander paes and others feature.
This will be a huge achievement for the Indian entertainment industry. Kudos to the entire team for making such a mammoth effort and inspiring the nation.
