Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor surprised the public big time on 11th May 2018, when they updated their social media accounts with pictures of their marriage. In the following interviews, it became evident that Reshammiya and Kapoor had tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in Mumbai, presided over by their family members only.
From the pictures shared with captions of love and togetherness, the public was finally aware of the details of the wedding. Sonia Kapoor looked elegant in a pastel pink lehenga with floral designs and had donned beautiful accessories like the matha-patti and a kundan necklace, contrasting it with a gorgeous green stone necklace. Red bangles gleamed resplendently on her delicate wrists, with intricate mehendi designs engraved on them. Himesh Reshammiya had opted for a gold sherwani for the ceremony. He completed the majestic suit with a white and golden dupatta draped across his shoulders, complimenting both of their attires.
Himesh Reshammiya stated in an interview that the marriage ceremony was held on Saturday due to a last-minute decision. The change of plans had occurred because of a sudden shifting of the ceremonial mahurats. Therefore, the marriage was attended by family members only at a very short notice. Himesh explained that he and Sonia have planned to throw an extravagant party for their friends and fellow actors as soon as possible. Himesh, however, described this marriage as a ‘natural progression’. The actor seemed very satisfied with his present relationship status and making the love shared by him and Sonia exclusive to the world had given him more happiness than anything else.
Following the finalization of his divorce with his ex-wife Komal on January 2017, Himesh Reshammiya had opened up to being in a relationship with Sonia Kapoor. His wedding with the latter was also attended by his son Swayam.
