One that I shall never forget: Big B on IFFI honour!

On Tuesday, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was awarded the ‘Indian Film Personality of the Year Award’ at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). On this, Amitabh has described the evening as a one which he will never forget.

Amitabh Bachchan was awarded for his contribution to the Hindi Film industry for so many years. In 2013, Hindi Cinema completed its 100 years there the Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) introduced this new award to commemorate the milestone and honor of a legendary film artist.

Amitabh took this to his Twitter account and he thanked Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani as she presented the award to Mr. Bachchan at the 48th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) along with the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Amitabh thanked the Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Smriti Irani as she took so trouble to organize the most memorable evening for him and this is something which he will remind and cherish for the rest of his life. Moreover, he said that the award ceremony was very humbling and filled with such gratefulness to IFFI.

Actor, Akshay Kumar presented the award to Amitabh Bachchan by saying that the in Hollywood they are having Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. But, in Bollywood, they are having Angry Young Man, which is Mr. Bachchan. Earlier, actors like Waheeda Rehman (2013), Rajinikanth (2014), Ilaiyaraaja (2015) and S.P Balasubrahmanyam (2016) have got this award in the previous editions of IFFI.
