Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan will be conferred with the Indian Film Personality Award of the Year Award. He will be honored at this year’s International Film Festival Of India (IFFI). The award function is slated to begin later in November in Goa.
Amitabh will be honored for his contribution in the Hindi Film Cinema for so many years. In 2013, when the Hindi Cinema completed its 100 years there the Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) introduced this new award to commemorate the milestone and honor of a legendary film artist.
However, earlier actors like Waheeda Rehman (2013), Rajinikanth (2014), Ilaiyaraaja (2015) and S.P Balasubrahmanyam (2016) have got this award in the previous editions of IFFI. Now, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to start its 48th edition from November 20 and it will continue until November 28 in Goa. Superstar of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan will also be attending the award ceremony on one of the days during the week.
However, there is a controversy that is going around over the removal of the two movies which is Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s Malayalam movie ‘S Durga and Ravi Jadhav’s Marathi movie ‘Nude’ from the selection of the movie. According to the recent reports, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has resigned as the head of the jury of the International Film Festival of India.
