Deepika Padukone Says It Would be Nicer To Feel Protected at this Point!

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone says that she would like to feel safer and protected at this point of a time. Deepika is gearing up for her upcoming Indian period drama movie titled ‘Padmavati‘ and because of the movie, the actress is getting several threats.

During the recent interview for the BBC World News, the actress expressed her opinion on the whole controversy that is revolving around her upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’. The episode will go on air on Saturday. When asked the actress that does she would like to get the better protection from the state? On this, Deepika Padukone said that in an ideal world obviously yes but she feels that it is too soon to tell. She feels that it would be nicer to feel safer or protected at this certain point in time.

However, it was a director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s attempt to bring out the alive story of a Rajput queen Rani Padmavati on the big screen with his movie ‘Padmavati’ but the movie has not got down well with the Hindi groups and has been backed by the Bharti Janta Party and other political parties.

During the shooting of the movie, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali faced much trouble while shooting of the movie, however, the protest escalated as the movie neared its release date. There are reports that the directors have included the dream, sequence of Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji in the movie. However, the makers of the movie have clarified many times that there is no such sequence which has been shot between the two actors.

The movie’s release date has been deferred from its original date, but there are many protestors that are trying to ban the movie. Moreover, she talked about the protests which have surrounded the project. Deepika says that it is very hurtful and it is very sad she says that the movie has the power to bring the people together just to unite people and to spread the love. She feels that it is very disheartening sometimes that people did not recognize that. She even spoke about the gender dynamics of India cinema.

Deepika says that she has seen the transition the kind of movies which the makers are making and the movie which she is doing that are those roles which are written and with the women behind the camera not just only in front of the camera.

The movie ‘Padmavati’ is an upcoming Indian period drama and it is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, alongside Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji,  Shahid Kapoor as MaharajaRawal Ratan Singh, Jim Sarbh, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
