November 19th is celebrated every year as the International Men’s Day, to highlight gender equality and improve gender relations.

On this special occasion, here is a look at five men from some Bollywood films that were ideal husband, father or brother and we need more of them in our real life.

1. Prem – Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! (1994) – The word Prem is synonym with a well behaved and well mannered boy in Sooraj Barjatya films. Played by Salman Khan, the guy is parent-abiding, lovely and sweet boy next door who every girl would love to have in their life.

2. Raju – Lajja (2001) – Played effortlessly by Anil Kapoor, this character is a petty thief with a kind heart. He helps Vaidehi (Manisha Koirala) getting away from her abusive husband, thus qualifying to slip into this list.

3. Onler Kom – Mary Kom (2014) – This biopic of boxer Mary Kom has Priyanka Chopra in the centre stage. But the surprise element is Onler Kom, her husband, played by Darshan Kumar, who stands by his wife like a pillar through thick and thin.

4. Arjun – NH10 (2015) – This edge of the seat thriller by Navdeep Singh stars Anushka Sharma as a women taking charge of everything when things go crazy. But behind this is her husband Arjun, who is all supportive for her, which raises eyebrows of men around her as they reach the badlands.

5. Robbie Bhatia – Manmarziyaan (2018) – This fiction is not stranger than fact because Abhishek Bachchan (who plays this character) is like Robbie in his real life. He is holding their daughter when Aishwarya goes to stage to received her award, which is something most of the men don’t do. His character from the Anurag Kashyap directed romantic drama-sets an example of how men should behave.

We just more and more men in real life inculcate the good things from these reel life men in their life.
