We really have been missing good family dramas in Indian Cinema and I feel that in the past few years the Marathi Cinema has created a new wave altogether for this specific genre. And this new wave is a definition of good cinema in itself. The 2017 film ‘Baapjanma’ forms a bond with the young generation as well as the older generation. Portraying the strained father and children relationship on-screen with a new way of storytelling, this film is one heartwarming art which definitely strikes you. The highlights of this film are that the director chooses the tone of humor to convey the story which makes it more interesting to watch.

A scene from Baapjanma

The above frame is the point of conflict in the story where an ex RAW agent Bhaskar Pandit (Sachin Khedekar) realizes that just being happy alone is not what he wants, he owes a lot to his children with whom he had maintained a long-distance due to his responsible job and he feels this is the time when he needs them to know how much he loved them. The way this story is being portrayed by director Nipun Dharmadhikari is really amazing as there’s the minimalism of emotions but as a viewer, it is us who generate the emotions throughout the story.

Coming back to the plot, Bhaskar comes up with a unique and unbelievable plan to reunite with his children, and what we follow further is an amazing and beautiful story of human relationships, priorities, and many other aspects of life.

This film is available on Amazon Prime, watch this, it will not disappoint you. Meanwhile, stay tuned to The Indian Wire for more such articles.
