Karwan

One of the most awaited Irrfan Khan starrers of 2018 Karwan is all set for release within a couple of months. The film came to a wrap in October and is now set to hit the theatres on June 1st. This film, directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala depicts the slice-of-life genre with its very own comedy element to it.

The story is based on the mundane, yet exciting, lives of three oddballs, trying to find some balance in their lives on their unconventional journeys. Reports suggest that the film is based on a road trip which traces the story of two unlikely friends. The actors have travelled across Ooty and Kochi for a month-long schedule.

After his successful run in his latest flick Qarib Qarib Singlle which featured the Bollywood debut of Malayalam actor Parvathy, Irrfan is all set to return with Karwan.

It has a colourful set of debutants waiting to hit the Bollywood industry of which they are already basking in the limelight of their previous works.

Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan is all ready for his Bollywood debut, and the actor who has delivered noteworthy performances in films like Bangalore Days, Charlie and O Kadhal Kanmani is thrilled to be sharing the screen with Irrfan Khan. This is the first Hindi feature film for Dulquer Salman who has set his resume strong and bold throughout the south Indian theatres with his exceptional performances and this will be a much-awaited experience to witness him beside the International Irrfan Khan. He has already signed his next Bollywood project beside Sonam Kapoor and will be an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s book, The Zoya Factor.

Reportedly, Abhishek Bachchan was the first choice for Dulquer’s part, but unfortunately, he had to opt out as the schedule was clashing with JP Dutta’s comeback film Paltan.

Mithali Palkar who started of her career with a Youtube video Confusing things a girl say went on to later work on the web series Girl in the city all of which highlighted her career to set herself up to this stage. Now from Ads & Web series to a film alongside Irrfan and Dulquer Salman, the 25 year old is all set to be the next big thing. When the film officially came to wrap Mithila posted a selfie of the three thanking them for being awesome.

‘Karwan’ also marks the directorial debut of ‘Humshakals’ and ‘Krrish 3’ screenwriter Akarsh Khurana. He has reportedly co-written the script with the dialogue writer of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘2 States’, Hussain Dalal.
