Mumbai: Late legendary actor Irrfan Khan’s last film ‘The Song Of Scorpions’ is all set to release on the big screen next year.
Taran Adarsh, Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter and wrote, “Irrfan’s last film- The Song Of Scorpions- to release in 2021… Directed by Anup Singh… Presented by Panorama Spotlight and 70mm Talkies.”
The Song Of Scorpions stars Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani and veteran Bollywood actor Waheeda Rehman in pivotal roles, which premiered at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 2017. However, it has not had a theatrical release yet.
The Golshifteh Farahani plays the role of a tribal woman learning the ancient art of healing and Irrfan Khan as a camel trader.
The Song of Scorpions is a Swiss-French-Singaporean Rajasthani language drama film written and directed by Anup Singh. The film is produced by Feather Light Films and KNM.
Earlier, Irrfan Khan’s son Babil shared a throwback picture of the late actor in a still from the film The Song Of Scorpions on social media. He wrote, “He had this strange understanding of rain. I cannot compare it to anything that I have ever experienced. He could only explain it to me through the limits within what words would let him, but there was a connection that I cannot envelop even in the most beautiful language; only the desert could show, oh my god, what the rain did to him.”
The internationally acclaimed actor, Irrfan Khan died at the age of 53 in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on April 29. He was battling cancer and his health got worse after a colon infection.
Irfan has done films like Life Of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man, Jurassic World, Piku, Paan Singh Tomar, etc.
