Janhvi Kapoor to make her debut in South with Tamil film ‘AK 59’ staring Ajith

Newbie Janhvi Kapoor who made her Bollywood debut with 2018 film ‘Dhadak‘  opposite Ishaan Khatter, is all set to make her debut in Tamil film industry with ‘AK 59’ starring Ajith. The film is a remake of 2016 National Award winning film ‘Pink’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu.

‘AK 59’ is directed by H. Vinoth and bank rolled by Janhvi’s father, Boney Kapoor The film will soon go on the floors and the makers are currently working on the final cast of the film.

Janhvi will have a cameo role in the Tamil remake of ‘Pink’. Sources close to the project revealed that the makers are trying to bring Janhvi in the film and are making the final changes to the script.

Superstar Ajith will portray the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the film and Shraddha Srinath will be eassaying the role portrayed by Taapsee Pannu in the original film. Vidya Balan will also make her Kollywood debut with ‘AK 59’, where she will star opposite Ajith. The makers of the film have made certain changes to suit the Tamil market.

The shooting of the film will begin from March and the film is slated to release by Dussehra 2019. It was Sridevi‘s wish that Ajith does a film under her Husband’s banner since both the actors worked in ‘English Vinglish’.
