Janhvi Kapoor, after her successful debut in Bollywood with Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak‘, is all geared up to introduce a unsung hero of 1999 Kargil war, Gunjan Saxena.

It seems like Bollywood has rolled up its sleeves to sing the glory of all the forgotten heroes of the country. Be it Neerja Bhanot, who gave her life to save three kids or Tapan Das, who helped India win its first Olympic Gold Medal in Hockey, Bollywood wants to show it all.

This time it is one of the India’s first women combat aviators Gunjan Saxena. She was posted in Kargil during the war. She along with 24 other girls made the first batch of women IAF trainee pilots. She is the first woman to be honored by Shaurya Vir award, in the army.

A source revealed, “Janhvi will start prep in the next few days with basic flying lessons and sessions on how the Indian Air Force works and lives. She spent time with Gunjan a few months ago and will be meeting her again to understand her story better.”

The film will be produced by Karan Johar.
