Every mother plays a special role in her child’s life. Janvhi Kapoor’s mother, Sridevi did the same on her. The late iconic actor passed away two years ago due to accidental drowning. Today would have been her 57th birthday. Remembering her mother, Janvhi Kapoor shared a throwback picture on Instagram.

Her post fetched comments from Sridevi’s fans and hers as they paid the late actor tributes. Janvhi had posted the following picture on her account :

Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963, in Madras Tamil Nadu. She started her career as a child artiste and soon made her name in the film world. She made her film debut at the age of 4 in the Tamil film ‘Kandan Karunai’ in 1967′. While her debut role as a lead came in K.Balachander’s ‘Moondru Mudichu’ (1976).

The actor gained prominence in the south industry which led to her being cast in her first Hindi film, Solva Sawan (1979). However, it was in 1983 when she was cast in Himmatwala opposite Jitendra that catapulted her into stardom and launched her Bollywood career.

During her existence, she did several important and memorable Hindi films such as Chandni, Lamhe, Chaalbaaz, Mr. India, Nagina, Sadma, and English Vinglish among others.

The actor’s last feature film was MOM(2017) with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It fetched her a Best Actress National Award, posthumously. She worked in films across several languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

In 2013, the government of India awarded her the Padma Sri Award, India’s fourth-highest civilian award.

Her daughter, Janvhi Kapoor made her debut in Dhadak. Gandhi’s next film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl recently released on Netflix. The film is about the real-life IAF officer Gunjan Saxena,  who became the first woman pilot in the 1999 Kargil War.
