James Wan directorial Hollywood movie ‘Aquaman‘ starring  Jason Momoa became the highest-grossing DC film ever. The film broke the record of Christopher Nolan’s 2012 film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

According to the Box Office Mojo, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ had the lifetime run of $1.084 billion while ‘Aquaman’ has earned $1.090 billion till date.

The film was released on December 14 in the international market, a week before it released in North America last year. It is set in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). After beating ‘Batman v Superman’ it already was the biggest film in the universe.

Warner Bros released Aquaman in North America on December 21, 2019. Due to which the film was already a hit before it even hit its domestic market.

The story of the film is about the hybrid son of the queen of Atlantis, Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) and a normal human, a lighthouse keeper. They fall in love and give birth to a son, Arthur (Jason), who is a half breed. Unknown of his legacies and the fact that he will unite the two worlds of land and sea, he lives a normal life. Until he realizes that he can survive both on land and in the underwater environment and even control all sea life.

In another world, Arthur’s half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) is about to declare war upon the surface. Only Arthur, our Aquaman can save both the worlds and starts his journey find the answers and his history.

It received a rating of 64% at Rotten Tomatoes.

The consensus reads, “Aquaman swims with its entertainingly ludicrous tide, offering up CGI superhero spectacle that delivers energetic action with an emphasis on good old-fashioned fun.”
