It was only yesterday that Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar went on the floors. And today, the first look of Singh from the film has been revealed. Singh, who plays a Gujarati man in the film, can be seen wearing an orange T-shirt with blue collar and blue pocket with a pair of faded black jeans. Sporting a moustache, wide-eyed Singh is standing in front of several women as if trying to save them.

Bankrolled by Yashraj Studios, the film will be directed by debutante Divyang Thakkar who has previously acted in short films like Kalapaani and feature film Bey Yaar. The film will be produced by Maneesh Sharma who directed Band Baaja Baaarat.

Singh called Jayeshbhai Jordaar “a film with a big heart, a movie for everyone” during an interview with DNA. “It is, in fact, a miracle script that YRF found for me out of nowhere. The sheer brilliance of the writing compelled me to immediately green-light this project. Both humorous and poignant, Jayeshbhai is right up there with the most solid on-paper material I’ve come across,” he further added.

Talking about his titular character, the Gully Boy actor told Hindustan Times, “Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero, an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he’s hurled into a threatening situation. He is sensitive and compassionate, and believes in equal rights between men and women in a society that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals and practices.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has recently wrapped up the shoot of Kabir Khan’s 83 where he would be seen portraying former captain of Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev. He also has Karan Johar’s Takht in his kitty.
