We recently told you that veteran actor Pankaj Kapur has joined his son Shahid Kapoor for the upcoming sports drama film Jersey. Now, we have learnt that the shooting of the film, which was scheduled to start in the first week of December, has been postponed due to poor health of Shahid. According to a report in Mid Day, the film will now go on the floors from 13 December.

The report quoted the film’s producer Aman Gill as saying, “Shahid has a very professional approach towards work and he has always given his best. However, he recently fell extremely ill, and his health is of utmost importance to us. Therefore for him to recover fully we decided to delay the film’s shoot by a week and now will start on Friday 13th December.”

The Kabir Singh actor has been grappling with health issues for sometime. He was even advised by his doctor to postpone all his work commitments and take complete bed rest. Despite that, he tried to fulfil his commitments for a recent award ceremony to the best of his abilities as he did not want anyone to suffer any kind of loss, according to a source cited by the same report.

The film is set during the period of mid ’90s in the city of Chandigarh where most of the film will be shot at real locations.The first schedule of the film will go on for around a month. The team will then take a break and will return to the city to shoot the second schedule.

Jersey is a remake of Telugu hit film of the same name that released earlier this year. The film stars Mrunal Thakur as the leading lady and will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who also helmed the original film.

The Hindi adaptation is being produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju and is scheduled to be released on August 28, 2020.
