Satyameva Jayate 2, the sequel of 2018 commercially successful film of the same name, will go on the floors in April next year, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror. The film will star John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee who were also there in the first film. It will also feature Divya Khosla Kumar and will be directed by Milap Zaveri who also helmed the first installment.
While speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Zaveri revealed that the sequel will be bigger in scale. “The first film dealt with corruption, but with Part 2, corruption in all spheres—from the police to politicians, industrialists, the common man—will be tackled,” he told the publication.
He further added that there will also be elements of humour in the film. “It is situational, in the Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore zone. There are moments in the film where John will play to the gallery,” he said.
Zaveri shared that the team has already started working on the action scenes of the film. I am finding new things for John to tear apart now. He is my Hulk and I believe he can smash anything,” he said, adding that two songs have been locked and story-boarding and location hunt are in progress.
On Divya Kumar’s return to the big screen after 15 years, the writer-director said, “There is a lot of depth and dignity to John and Divya ma’am’s characters.I started my career with a love story and its failure made me take a step back. The confidence to write the tender moments in this story has come from Marjaavaan.”
Satyameva Jayate 2 will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani.
