John Krasinski’s Youtube show ‘Some Good News’ became a huge hit with his fans and audiences. The show which Krasinski made while being in lockdown to specifically spread only good news, was sold by him a few days back to Viacom CBS.

His decision to sell the show got backfired amongst his fans who took to social media to express their angst. Calling Krasinski a “sellout” and selling a feel good show to “make people feel good”, fans butchered Krasinski online.

In a recent Instagram live chat with his ‘The Office’ co-star Rainn Wilson, Krasinski defended the decision. He explained was only planning on doing eight of them during the quarantine. I have these other things that I’m going to be having to do very soon, like Jack Ryan. More than that, writing, directing and producing — all those things — with a couple of my friends was so much.”

Telling that it would have been difficult for him to keep running the show besides his film career, the actor felt that it would be better to sell the show instead of ending it forever. He however added that he would have ‘loved to do the show from his office forever’.

Though the show is sold to Viacom CBS, Krasinski is still an executive producer of the show. He said “We have a lot of really fun stuff planned and I can’t wait to dig in.”I’m going to be a part of it whenever I can, and I’m going to host a couple of episodes and bring on a different community of people. We’re really, really excited about it.”

Many people loved the show very much and sent kind messages to Krasinski for spreading positivity in the world. It made them feel warm and attached to it. Krasinski said that it was his most special and emotionally fulfilling work ever. “That’s probably the most emotionally fulfilled I’ve ever felt in my entire life”, he said.

Krasinski who no longer will host the show, is going to be an onscreen presence in some other form on the show.
