Jug Jugg Jeeyo is a refreshing rom-com of the year. Unlike the other rom-coms, this film has a blend of laughter, emotion, fights, tears and family drama. The film has an essence of heavy sequences followed up with something light. The one-liners in the family drama will surely bring a smile to your face. The subject chosen is quite relevant and the film showcases it in a light way.

‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ Plot Summary
The film starts with a retro note where Kukku, played by Varun Dhawan proposes to his best friend’s sister Naina, played by Kiara Advani. The duo get married and after five years, the fire between them vanishes. The couple decides to get separated.
Meanwhile, at Kukku’s sister’s wedding, they discover that Kukku’s father is in love with some other woman and wants to divorce his mother. The duo decides to bind their family together. The film is a blend of humour, drama, and complicated relationships with an essence of the family factor.
Raj Mehta’s directorial drama is a power-packed family entertainer of the season.
‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ Star Cast Performance
The audience loved the notorious chemistry between Varun and Kiara. The duo has an amazing chemistry as a couple. This film marks their first collaboration together, and the audience is immensely loving the pair on-screen.
Anil Kapoor, as always portrayed his character in a jhakaas manner. He is the lifeline of the film. The 65-year-old actor plays loud and colourful family patriarch Bheem, father of Varun Dhawan. The character is tailor-made for him as he makes you root for him despite all his eccentricities.
Neetu Singh is quite endearing and likeable and fits the role beautifully. YouTuber Prajakta Koli makes a confident debut. However, she needs to work on her acting skills a bit.
‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ Box Office Collection
The family entertainer minted Rs 9 crores on the first day of its release. Raj Mehta’s directorial film jumped by 40 per cent on its second day as early estimates suggest collections in the range of Rs 12-13 crores, taking the two-day collection to Rs. 22 crores.
According to estimates, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 14.50 to Rs 16 crores on the third day to take the opening weekend total to Rs. 37 crores. The film has shown near 65 per cent growth from Friday to Sunday, and this has put it in a good position to record an encouraging trend on the weekdays.
Keeping the above figures apart, the film is watchable if you are a family drama lover. The film might have flaws, but at the end of the day, it’s all in the family and this is just the kind of wholesome family entertainer that we need to watch in the theatre.
